Sister asking for photocopy of property documents can she cheat me

23-Jun-2023 (In Property Law)
Female, Hindu by religion, my younger sister is demanding colored photocopy of the original documents of registry of paternal property. Documents were given to me by my mother after father's death. No other Siblings. 1. How it will benefit my sister in taking advantage of the property? 2. How we can differentiate between original documents and colored copy of them?

Tell your sister that you will only give her an ordinary photocopy/xerox (b/w) of the documents.

Or, tell your sister to apply to the Registrar's Office for getting certified copies of the documents.

Because, coloured copy is never needed.

With careful examination, anyone can know the difference between coloured copy and original copy. And, no one can procure paper exactly like the paper used in printing non-judicial stamps.

I think by taking coloured photocopy of the original document no one can take any undue advantage. Coloured copy is very different from original copy and any smart purchaser will make out this in a fraction of second. I do not see any problem even if you give coloured photocopy to your sister. After all she is your sister and you both have equal right on the property.
