Settlement deed of family issue solve problems with father daughter

My father is making a settlement deed with life interest. He said that I have to sign and put thumb impression for registry in front of lawyer after that it will be registered by only father.Is it possible

it entirely depends upon the wording of the Deed he is preparing. you mentioned he is making settlement deed with life interest, what I can assume there are other persons who would be his legal heirs. in that that regard you signature is necessary
