Selling property via GPA
03-Sep-2023 (In Property Law)
I have a notarised General Power Of Attorney for purchasing and selling property from my daughter and son in law executed in 2010 through which I have purchased a flat in Pune on their name. The same property is now to be sold. Will the same POA is valid for selling the property?
Your old notarised power of attorney given by daughter to you in 2010 is no longer valid for registration purposes. Either your daughter should present herself for registration or a new power duly authenticated (i.e. registered) would be required to be produced as per the recent changes in registration act.
