Rights of a daughter over father's property if he is remarrying

24-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)

My parents had a mutual consent divorce and I live with my mother. My father is remarrying. What rights will I have in my father's property? Will I have to share with my step mom and step siblings? What if my father gives all his rights to my step mother? Can I challenge them for the same in court?

In case of a self acquired property of your father, your father can dispose off his property in a manner in which he wish to. If the property is not distributed until his death, the property will be distributed among all the legal heirs. It will be distributed among the children from both the wives and his current legal wife.
