Representational rights of class 2 legal heirs

02-Feb-2025 (In Property Law)
A Hindu male dies intestate, his wife, mother and father all predeceased him. He has no children. He has 2 brothers and 2 sister, among them 1 sister has predeceased him. He has 2 acre land which he got through inheritance from his father's self acquired property. As per Hindu succession act whether only his surviving siblings has the right to his property or the heirs of the predeceased sister also has right to property. My question is whether doctrine of representation applies to class 2 heir

Yes, the doctrine of representation is widely applicable so that no blood relation is omitted. In this case, the legal heirs of the predeceased sister too are entitled to a share which their mother would have claimed had she been alive.
