Registration with joint owners not staying together

Hi, We want to do online registration of rental agreement for a flat owned jointly by my husband & me however he is in the US & I am in India.
Can online registration be done if owners are in 2 different geographic locations? Or do we have to be present at the same location for the process?
in your situation you can get power of attorney from your husband only for rental agreement. for that u have to send draft to him. he will do attestation at embassy and send to u in india and then in india u have to pay stamp duty of rs. 500 and need to do notary of the same.

No you don’t have to be present in he same geographical location. You may ask your husband to execute a power of attorney authorising you to give the said property on rental basis under which he may give you further rights in connection with the license agreement. Each country has a peculiar process of executing power of attorney in their their respective country, which is typical through the consulate. Kindly make sure the Power of attorney is drafted well and covers all the requisite rights that may arise from the license agreement to avoid further complications.
