01-Nov-2023 (In Property Law)
I am staying at a rented house in Thane district of Mumbai. My house owner is from Bangalore. I have rental agreement paper signed from Karnataka Government. Is it valid here in Mumbai ? If it is, kindly mention the section no under which it falls. Thanks Shashank

This is my response to you: 1. Since the property belongs to Mumbai the same has to be registered at this sub-registrar; 2. The One signed in Bangalore has no jurisdiction; 3. Still one needs to read the terms of the agreement and the ownership title of the property owner; 4. By bare perusal of facts it seems there is violation of registration act and transfer of property act; 5. Consult a local lawyer for informed legal opinion.

What do you mean by Rental Agreement Paper? A Leave and License Agreement has to registered with the Sub-Registrar(s) having jurisdiction where the property is located. Please provide more details. You can reach me personally for any assistance.
