Refund of booking amount in case of delayed possession

22-May-2023 (In Property Law)
Sir, I booked a plot with a developer RERA registered. I cancelled the plot since the developer had delayed in development of layout. Now he is harassing in refunding the booking amount of Rs. 100,000/-.I Please beg your advice for raising the complaint under RERA act for full refund of my amount paid while booking. I have the receipt of the amount paid, which I have paid as cheque. Thanks

Under RERA, the developer bound to return your money with interest. You must file a complaint with RERA immediately. The Developer will be given an opportunity to respond, and the Developer will be ultimately ordered to return your booking amount.

1. Issue legal notice to builder for the refund. 2. In case, if the builder not refunding the money then approach consumer forum and file recovery suit against the builder. 3. I do not think filing complaint with RERA would fetch you solution.
