Purchasing property from NRI what documents need to checked

04-May-2023 (In Property Law)

Hi I am planning to buy flat from NRI Hindu Lady, which she has purchased on her own. Title is in her own name. Is it any way will impact on our purchase without getting consent from her husband and her children.

You can approach a real estate lawyer and conduct a title search - wherein they will trace the ownership of the property and validate whether the NRI Hindu Lady is in lawful possession of the property and whether she can sell it. Sometimes, prior to selling the property a paper publication seeking objections can also be sought. Please approach a real estate lawyer who specializes in Title Search.
