Property purchased from grandmother can brothers claim it

14-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)

Hi Sir I have purchased a property as a joint owner with my wife in 2012-2013 from my grandfather for 35 lacs & i made sale agreement for the same paying actual stamp duty. The market value of the propert was 56 lacs during that time so i paid stamp duty on 56 lacs. Now is there any chance my elder brother can make any claim on that property because i want to sell it now?

As per your query, if you had bought the property from your grandfather legally and completed all the legal formalities and paper work then it belongs to you and your brother cannot claim his right over the property.
