Property Ownership Dispute – Legal Questions

19-Mar-2025 (In Property Law)
I'm a Hindu and my grandfather bought a property in my father's name when my father was a minor. Both my grandparents died without a will. One of my father's siblings claims she needs an equal share. Is she legally entitled to it? The property was directly bought from a seller and registered in my father’s name. Does this affect my aunt’s claim? Since the property was bought while my father was a minor, will that be an issue in determining ownership?

Your grandfather had purchased a property and registered it in your father's name (when he was a minor) by means of a sale deed. It very much became your father's absolute and exclusive asset. None of your father's siblings can lay any claim on it legally.
