Owner threatens to vacate room on making any complaint what to do

30-Sep-2023 (In Property Law)
My room owner threatens me to vacate the room if I take any complaints to him. On asking him to give me a written piece of evidence that he has received the rent, he refused and asked me to vacate the place if I don't like his behaviour. This is an example of many incidents. I don't have the time or spare money to change my place. Please help me out as to how to deal with him if he continues to threaten me like this.

Practically speaking, since you don't wish to relocate elsewhere and you want to stay in the same place it is essential that you maintain cordial relations with the owner. Let the owner not keep you in his bad books.
Is there is a rental agreement in place between you and the owner? If yes, the rental agreement stipulates for providing receipts of the rentals received from you.
If you have bank transfers into your owner's bank account then that is sufficient evidence to show that you have been paying the rents or your owner has been receiving the rentals.
However, generally as per the rental agreement, before vacating the house it is essential that either you or your owner give 1 month prior notice.
