Notary Will made in Mumbai by property in pune village, and the beneficiary is in trombay. Is probate mandatory or not .
It is mandatory to obtain probate for a Will in Mumbai. However, irrespective or wherever the beneficiary resides, if the testator i.e. the person who has made the Will was a resident of Mumbai then probate is mandatory. Feel free to contact me for seeking any legal advice as regards the same.

yes probate is mandatory if there is a will. the executor named in the will must file a petition with the Bombay High Court in its Testamentary Jurisdiction, along with the original will and other supporting documents.
