My grand father's patta land which is registered is showing as Govt la

Hi Sir, My Grandfather's land baught at 1978 (Registration is shown in Encumbrance Certificate) is showing as Govt land, is there any way to get patta name change. Thanks, R Ramarajan.

hi, I can well understand your concern from the query raised, if the land is marked in the name of government, then the land belongs to the government and if no prior information has been given to you or if you have a clear title to dispute, you can dispute the patta in the name of government, you can apply for corrections, thank you, you can contact me for further clarifications

Dear Ramarajan, If your grandfather’s land, purchased in 1978 and reflected in the Encumbrance Certificate, is now classified as government land, you can apply for a patta correction at the local Tahsildar office by submitting the sale deed, EC, and relevant documents. If the request is denied, you can escalate the matter to the RDO or District Collector with a grievance petition. If necessary, legal action, such as a writ petition in the High Court, can be pursued to rectify the classification and secure ownership rights. If u need further legal help contact us
