Mother in law settled properties in favour of daughters
07-Jan-2025 (In Property Law)
My mother in law had 6 children. 3 sons and 3 daughters. Father in law had properties through his earnings but mostly he bought on my mother in laws name. After his death properties were transferred to mother in law. She passed away now we came to know she gave settlement of all properties to the daughters and nothing for sons or their kids. Only daughters were aware of this. Is there any solution for the sons for this issue?
No matter who bought the property, property registered in whose name is important. If ur Father in law has purchased the properties in your mother in law’s name then those are her self acquired properties which she is entitled to settle to anybody as she wishes. Any property in the name of father in law shall be equally entitled by all sons, daughters, wife and mother all being the legal heirs or in short entitled by all the person whose name is reflected in the legal heir certificate
