Is Patta Required For Transfer To Legal Heir?

26-Nov-2024 (In Property Law)
Our property (Joint ownership of self and wife, 39x 70 ft plot with house ) was registered with only a sale deed. My only daughter is the sole heir to this property. On our demise, when the property becomes hers , will a Patta be required ?

Please understand that the patta is merely a Revenue record evidencing your title and ownership, and is not a one conferring title. Both of you may either gift the property to your daughter or leave a Will in her favour.
