Is it a good decision to buy a room in slum area

Hello, I'm resident of Mumbai. I live in room own by my father, now I'm planning to purchase an another room in Mumbai due to various reasons but it will cost beyond my budget. Hence we plan to buy slum in Mumbai. Now I have 3 questions in my mind 1) Does my plan to buy slum is really a good decision? 2) If yes, then on what basis or document I should buy ? 3) If no, then what would be the option that will suit me? For your convince to provide proper and feasible answer, here is my background, currently I earn 12K per month and my father has no fixed income but average is around 6k per month.
