Is family members signature required to gift forefather’s property

24-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)
Dear Sir, We have a forefather’s property in my mother’s name and she wants to register it on my name. I have brothers and sisters, do they have to agree and sign OR my mother can transfer to my name / sell to anyone without my sisters/brothers signature. Kindly advise me.

Even if the property is ancestral but if it is registered in your mother's name then it no longer remains ancestral and becomes your mother's self-acquired property. Accordingly, your mother can transfer the said property to anyone she wants to and she doesn't need the approval of your brothers and sisters.
