If I am paying the loan of flat then can I get whole ownership

There is a flat in name of my huby and me...joint...he paid the emi for 1 yr now he has stoped paying...instead I am paying the emi....we are not staying together...if I am paying the leftover loan ...then also the property belongs to him?? Will I not be the owner of flat....he has also submitted the surrender letter to bank that he will not pay the loan ....
