If a person is not staying in society can they be elected us members

Recently, elections for the New managing committee were conducted in our society in Andheri , Mumbai.My queries as as follows: - Three of the members appointed to the committee are not residing in the society since the past 4/10 years. Is their appointment Valid? - Can two family members (Husband and wife) holding two flats individually in their names be members of the managing committee? Kindly reply along with the related sections as that would make things easy for us. If answer/s to any of the questions above is in the negative, kindly state what action can be taken in this regard?
The elections in the residential societies are conducted according to the rules and regulations drafted by the General body of the Society. The elections of the management committee is also conducted according to the rules and regulations formed by the General Body of the Society, if the election is conducted against the rules which are formed by the general body then you can inform the Body regarding the same.
