I have raised unauthorized structure to cover my car is this illegal

I have raised an unauthorized structure with GI piped to cover my car from coconuts falling on the car. The top is covered with dry palm leaves and plastic cover on top. Next door neighbour has complained to the Panchayat body, that I have constructed an illegal garage. What should I do. The structure is with 6 GI pipes and open on all sides. Can it be termed illegal or unauthorized ?. Please guide. The complainants are not staying in the one bedroom flat. Also, the entrance is common and only way to enter our flat. If you construct any permanent structure in a public land or a common place which is subject to be enjoyed commonly then you will have to take permission before construction from such authority. If no such permission is taken then such permanent construction will be unauthorized and can be demolished by such authorities.
