Whether your grandmother can make a claim in the property would depend of several factors. If the property was self acquired and a will was left behind by your father leaving the entire property to his son, and consequently the son left behind a will leaving the entire property to his wife, then no claim can be made on the property. However, if the son died without making a will, his mother would have a share in the property as well. Your grandmother will therefore need to file a suit for partition if you come to the conclusion that she has a share in the property.
