24-May-2023 (In Property Law)
My father was doing service in punjab police department but few days before he expired , he married two times , i am adopted daughter from my father and his first wife , after death of my mother /first wife of my father he married again and was living with second wife and having one son also. I am married , can i have any right to claim my father's gratuity and other income which will be issue by punjab police department.
You are also one of the natural legal heirs of your father. When you were adopted, you acquired all the rights in your adoptive family, which natural legal heir has. Now you, your step mother and son are entitled to 1/3 each out of your father's all types of properties whether movable or immovable.
Yes you are the legal Heir ( kaanooni waaris) of your father. So you can make a claim on the benefits to be given by the department. You should apply for the same with the department as you have got a right for the same.
