How to claim for share in case of a joint property

Hello Sir/Madamm, There is joint property registered on my fathers and his brother's name. Currently he is staying in that property. He had build another hose in some other property and will relocate very shortly. My father want to have his share. But his brother is not ready to divide the property and said that he want the full property. The documents are in his possession. the only thing we have is the previous document of that property. What is the solution to divide the property and get the share.Please help.
If the property is a joint property and registered in the name of your father and your uncle then you can file a partition suit and can claim your share in the property.
