How to cancel power of attorney from USA

I am living in United States of America. I want to cancel or revoke a general power of attorney that I gave to my relative for managing my land property in India. What is the process for cancelling POA from USA ? Also this power of attorney was given almost 23 years back. Is it still valid ? There is no expiration period mentioned on that POA. Also this POA is registered at local district magistrate office in India.
If the deed is registered, it should be revoked by a registered deed of revocation/cancellation. Immediately a notice to this effect should be sent to the power-holder. Publication in local daily newspaper is helpful in letting the people know regarding revocation of the power.
