How is the grandfather's property divided among their children

27-Jan-2023 (In Property Law)

We have a Ancestors agricultural land measuring 5.25 hectors. The land is with the family for last 3 generations. Grandfather died in 1986 and grand mother died in 2010. My grandfather has 3 sons and 3 daughters. Please suggest how the distribution of property needs to be done? How much is share of each member in the property. The entire land is in possession and under cultivation with one of my uncle for last 25 years

If it is ancestral property and you belong to a Hindu family, the property will be divided equally between all Class I heirs which includes the three sons and three daughters. If your grandfather's mother and wife are still alive, they would each get one share as well. If any of his children have predeceased your grandfather, then that person's share will go to that person's children. Feel free to get in touch with the LawRato team for further assistance.
