Got property through settlement agreement can my brother claim now

27-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)

In 1994 my father brought one land in my village with his own income. I have one brother and sister. Sister already settled in abroad. Last 6-7 years I am only take care of my family (My father & mother) Therefore, my father decided to give the land to me. He made the settlement agreement (“Settlement Pathiram”) in 2013. Now the Patta and everything is in my name. I built a home on that land. My question is : Is it possible he can claim his share now? On that Settlement agreement, all the family members should sign.?

It is your father's self acquired property.
He can transfer the same to anyone of his choice during his lifetime.
He need not ask anyone's consent for this act done as per his own wish and desire.
The settlement deed executed by him shall be unconditional and irrevocable.
The settlement deed executed by him should be registered properly by paying the applicable stamp duties and registration charges.
If the registered settlement deed has been acted upon by the donee by mutating the revenue records and getting all the records transferred on his name, the settlement is complete in all the respects.
Thereafter the donor also cannot cancel the settlement deed unilaterally.
Thus, there is no problem about it after that.
