Father gave property to step brother. Can i claim that property now?

Sir , my father died recently 6 years back my father wrote his own house in the name of my step brother my father also doesn't that he put signature on that document. Now i want that house is it possible to get my share in that property now ? 2 years back that house is purchased some one.

First, one must consider what kind of document are you referring to. Is it a deed or a testamentary instrument.

Further, is the property ancestral or self acquired. Further, how has the property been purchased by a third party. Has a deed been registered and has the property been mutated.

However, you are still within the period of limitation and a suit would not be time barred however the grounds that you may take can only be ascertained after answering these questions and after whetting the relevant documents. If you feel you have been deprived of your legitimate share in the property then you should speak with an Advocate you trust.
