Does married sister has equal share in ancestral property
10-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)
We have an ancestral property. Our grandfather died in 1990 and my father died in 1998. Now my father's sisters are asking for equal share in the property. Can they claim equal share ?
After 2005, Every Girl/Married Daughter, has Equal Property Rights over the ancestral Property.
your grandfather died in 1990 and your father died in 1998, so Equal Share should be given to legal heirs as per the succession. in case of will if such a will is in existence then the succession shall not applied.

Dear client,
No your aunt's can't ask equal share in your grand father's property if they all are married. If there is any unmarried daughter of your grandfather then she will get share as per Indian Succession Act
If they all are married then there is no question of getting them equal share in property as your grand father died prior to 2005 i.e. in 1990.
