Do we need wife brothers signatures on transfer of ancestral property

21-Feb-2023 (In Property Law)
Hi, My wife's mother and her fathers grandmother wants to write property on my name and my wifes name (as joint owners). In this kind of deal, do we need wifes brothers signatures ? Also will this deal be discounted according to "gift to girl" during marriage according to andhrapradesh laws. what are the terms that i have to specifically check in the agreement. (We belong to hindu religion, and andhrapradesh)

You will have to inquire into the nature of the property as whether it is an ancestral property or a self acquired one. If the said property is ancestral then, you will have to get a relinquishment deed duly signed by your Brother-in-law and get it registered. If the property of your wife's mother is self acquired one then, she can gift it to you both by a way of gift deed.
