Do I need to give advertisement for transfer of title in a society

My mother has transferred the flat on my name through gift deed,Once it was done I have submitted the deed documents to the society .After submission the society asked me to advertise the same in newspaper and provide the cutting to chairperson ,so that anyone should not claim the flat. ( but I am the only child of parents and the said flat is on my mother’s name also my father is ready to give NOC as this question was also raised by the chairman). They have also put a demand of25,000/- transfer fees. religion Hindu Do I need to give advertisement in newspaper? Do I need to pay the transfer

In the present case, the advertisement in the local Newspapers is not required as the Property is transferred via a proper executed and registered document i.e. Gift Deed.

Further, there is no requirement for your Father to give a NOC as requested by the Society for the above mentioned reasons.

In addition, the demand of Rs. 25,000 as Transfer fees is illegal and the Society is only trying to milk out the money from in the garb of transfer. It is settled law that no transfer fee is chargeable in the event the property is transferred in the family which I understand is the case here.

I suggest that you write a letter requesting the Society to issue you a proper request on the above mentioned points.

You need to pay transfer fees to society. Since it is transfer in firm of gift to blood relatives you need not give advertisement. You can give indemnity bond to the society. Pleaee let me know in which state you are located as cooperative laws differ.

Transfer fee is mentioned in the society bye law. Please read carefully the bye law of the society. It is mandatory to give public notice in local news paper in vernacular language for transfer of society share to any family memeber in order to avoid future consequences of law. Public notice had no relation to any RELIGION.
