Deception when transferring ancestral land
22-Sep-2024 (In Property Law)
My cousin has claimed ancestral land belongs solely to him as his father was the only son. In fact he has 3 sisters (one of which is my mother) and all have passed away. He has now secured a buyer for the land. However, It was deceptively transferred to him. I don’t want to sell the land because of its sentimental value. What can I do to prevent the sale?
You should immediately consult a lawyer and take prompt actions since I understand how valuable something is when attached with some sentimental values. Before your cousin attempts to sell the property, get injunction against him so that the land cannot be sold and you can also seek for your part through partition suit for deciding and dividing your rightful part of the whole undivided immovable properties.
