Conversion of DDA flat from leasehold to freehold how to do it

04-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
My father bought a DDA flat on POA in 1993. He wants to get it converted to freehold. POA is in my father's name but sale agreement is in my mother's name. My query is that who will sign the application and other documents for conversion and in whose name would be the CD? Can it be in joint name?

Dear Querist, I write to you in response to your query shared. In order to get the freehold of your property, kindly apply to DDA, in the name of your father, who holds the Power of Attorney in his favour. There is an option for joint allotment of freehold also. But, I am not sure what you mean by sale agreement in name of your mother (were you referring to agreement to sell, which should be then an unregistered document).

You can fill up either blue or green form online or manually. You need a copy for POa along with sale agreement where application is made by attorney holder duly attested by notary public or gazetted officer. Copy of lease deed or allotment letter duly attested by notary public. House tax receipt or driving licence or aadhar card 4 attested passport photos an undertaking affidavit and indemnity bond .
