compulsory navratri festival donation

ours is not registered society but then also it asks for compulsory navratri festival of Rs.1500 so is this legal by law?

No. it's not legal to make donations compulsory. whether registered or not, no person can put a mandate to contribute in a non profit organization, to donate or to pay anything that's against the constitutional rights. you have fundamental rights to say no. Any compulsion to ensure that you suffer from a loss would be detrimental to the financial independence guaranteed by the preamble to constitution of India. Such wrongful actions are actionable and may be brought to the attention of appropriate authority to resolve at the soonest possible time.
