Commercial Plot dispute - Self acquired Plot - orally undivided family

09-Dec-2023 (In Property Law)
Details of case : - I purchased a commercial plot in 1995 from sources of funds without taking a single rupee from my brothers. - When this plot was purchased, oral partition was not done in my family. I was living in other city due to job. - The plot is registered in my name. - Now I started construction on the said plot. My brothers are telling that because this plot was purchased by me when oral partition was not done, they have equal right over this. - Payment for the purchase of plot has been done in cash. - I am Hindu by religion. Questions : - Whether my brothers have right over this plot. Whether they are logical or illogical. - Is there any liability from my side to them in this plot. - How I prove that it is my personal self acquired property and they do not have rights in this (Please note that plot is registered in my name).

You can keep them away from this property by filing a suit in a civil court seeking a declaration that you are the sole owner of the plot and your family has no rights whatsoever. you can seek permanent injunction against them.
