Clarification on transfer of rent receipt during chawl redevelopment

Dear Sir We two brothers staying in Pagdi Chawl in Mumbai since sixty years. Now our chawl is going under redevelopment. Whether it is essential to transfer rent receipt on our name or without transfer rent receipt, can we make agreement with developer is bound to transfer on our name as we are staying since 60 years? Can the rent receipt be transferred on joint name?
It would always be advisable to get the rent receipts transferred in the name of both the brother's . Post getting the rent receipt in your name getting an agreement with the developer would be advisable. all proofs to be in the name of both the parties. also do not vacant the premises unless and until you dont get the agreement registered
