Clarification on pagdi system in mumbai

My dad and aunt are landlord of the property under pagdi system in Bandra, Mumbai. One of the tenants wants to surrender their property to us. Are we entitled to pay stamp duty post registration of all the documents??
tenant will have to execute surrender of tenancy rights deed in favour of landlord. The stamp duty and registration can be done by the tenant and Landlord as per mutual understanding. such liability could be borne by Landlord and Tenant equally if it is mutually acceptable.
