Can names be mutated against property in land revenue department
21-Feb-2023 (In Property Law)
Our deceased parents purchased a plot of land and as our parents died, we being the only legal heirs now want to mutate our names in Land revenue dept records against the said property. We have paid up the due tax to the land revenue department. Recently before applying for mutation we produced the sale deed to our solicitor for inspection in this matter. He found that the land was sold by power of attorney duly signed by the legal heir of the seller by virtue of inheritance passed from the deceased owner of the land , but neither the evidences of the power of attorney is mentioned in the sale deed nor we have such evidences with us. Now we are clueless about legal possession of the property left by our parents. Can we mutate our names against the property in land revenue dept?
