Can I & J register be updated of the Society

The I&J register in our Society has not been updated since 1989. Can it be updated by the present Managing Committee since the Secretary and Chairman of that time are dead. Also I would like to know if a transfer has to be done it it necessary for us to write the name of all flat owners or only enter the names of new members to whom we need to execute the transfer.
In maharashtra state if you want to transfer the property in blood relationship then no stamp duty is applicable. Only Rs. 500/- stamp paper & 1 % LBT is applicable for it. For more information give PM.

yes it can be updated by the present managing committee. transfer will be in the name of present members of the society. no need to mention previous members...as they do not hold any interest in the property.

query no.1 - I & J registers can be updated by present Managing Committee with the permission of General Body by passing resolution and with prior intimation to the Registrar, co-operative of such general meeting.
query no.2- The names of all thransferors and respectice transferees must be mentioned with details of their respective agreements while updating the registers.
