Can daughter married before 1986 claim share in father's property

Does daughter married before 1986, claim share in father's self acquired House property. The property is located in state of Tamil Nadu.
When father is alive it is upto him whether to give or not any property to his daughter because since the property is self acquired he has to decide whom to give.
In case father is not alive all the legal heirs are entitled for equal share in the property irrespective of son or daughter. After 2005 Amendment Act, daughters are equally with sons.
