My Response to your query:

If you have given token money for purchase of property and now you wish to cancel that deal in this circumstances you can ask that token amount by way of mutual understanding if paper work in that deal you can't ask tahat money.

This is my response to you:
1. One will have to read through the MOU drafted by you;
2. This will depend on the terms you have agreed to abide by;
3. You can send him a legal notice;
4. Consult a local lawyer and take steps.
