Can a land in old FMB in 2004 be retrieved back?

27-Nov-2023 (In Property Law)
We live in a 'Natham Pormbokke' land in a town panchayat in Tirunelveli Dt. In 2002 we made a land survey with then FMB and marked our boundaries, but dint have any physical possession such as fence or compound wall surrounding the complete land. In 2015, when we checked with the latest FMB it seems that a portion of that land is missing. Also when we applied for a patta, we only got the patta for the land available in the latest map. Since it is a 'Natham porambokke' it does not have any other documents associated with it. A particular community people(who neither have any documents) are trying to encroach the land to build a place for worship. Is there any way to get that land back? If we are able to get the FMB of 2002-2006, will it help us in any way? Please advise on the same. Religion - Hindu

If you are able to obtain the FMB of 2002-2006, it will definitely strengthen your claim. Based on strong documentary evidence in your favour, you may file a suit at the proper court for reclaiming your lost land.

Latest fmb records only stand .As it is a poorampokku land you should have fenced be protect from encroachment.you should not have any remady other than forcible possession.poorampokku lands means not having original sale deed but possession and enjoyment of government land on payment of tax to government.
