Building constructed on Collector's Land

My grievance is regarding the area where i and my parents are residing. My father bought a residential flat in the year 1985 where in the agreement it was mentioned land has a clear title. Since our building was old the society members decided to go for redevelopment. That time it was brought to our understand that this land belongs to collector. There is a long battle going on since past 5-6 years now between collector and builder. There are about 10-15 residential buildings developed under this collector land ignorant to the buyer. The area name is Malvani No. 1, marve road, off. Fire Brigade Lane, Opp. Divya Park, Malad West, Mumbai - 4000 095 (Few Building Names: Cancer Pisces, Virgo, Capricorn, Libra, Sadhu Hiranand, Jaydeep etc). Now not too sure , what is the status of collector land, and how much time will it take to resolve the matter?

Depending on the nature of dispute with regard to your building land it may take years to decide. Generally the proceedings under Maharashtra Land Revenue Code before the Revenue Authorities are very slow and are subject to many appeals.As a result of which it can take time to deicide the issues.
