If the police are not taking any action against the culprit brother, he may approach the higher police official for relief and remedy.
If the higher police officer also is not giving a patient ear, your father may approach magistrate court with a private complaint under section 156(3) of cr.p.c. seeking direction to the police to investigate and file a report or register FIR for criminal trespass offences and also for repossession.
He may even file a private complaint under the protection of senior citizens act seeking protection to his life and property and also for proper legal action against the culprit son for his violent act against him.
