Any time limit for Mutation of inherited property
11-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
My father bought property in Mumbai in 1958 and got it registered in the name of 5 people. 3 people sold their share to my father via release deeds registered . All these people were also partners in a firm. My father retired from the firm and left possession of the property due to health reasons. Under threat of violence he was made to sign retirement deed written that he was giving up his share in the land too. The property papers were with my uncle. We moved to delhi. My father passed away in 1990. Since my father had not signed any sale or release deed and did not receive any information from the court about any mutation my father did not take any action and besides he did not have the property papers. The property bill is still coming in the name of father and original partners but the the property has been mutated in the name of new partners. We are now in possession of the property papers. Can i apply for mutation after more than 40 years.
