An ancestral property cannot be transferred through a gift deed. Transfer of an ancestral property through a gift deed will be an invalid transfer. You can challenge the gift deed and file a suit for partition thereby seeking share. Every legal heir will have a right over ancestral property and it will be distributed according to Hindu Succession Act.
