A part of the land is not registered what can i do

My father purchased land from a person and only a part of land registered at that time and remaining land is not registered in my father's name. The previous owner died 5 years back. The son of previous owner filed a case against us.We have sale deed and other documents . Your advice will greatly appreciated.
