Violation of no-animal clause in rent agreement

09-Sep-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I live in a rented appartment in Pune. My landlord has put a clause in the agreement stating that we are not allowed to keep any animals in the house. My father has signed the agreement. However a few months back two abondened kittens made their way into the house. I being a compassionate animal lover could not abonden them again and thus looked after them including their feeding and everything. These kittens give no trouble to the neighbours or litter anywhere. However my landlady sends us text msgs that we have violated the contract. Isn't this no animal clause in direct conflict with compassion to animals? and can we force the lady to remove this clause legally?

Dear Querist,
Once having signed the contract you are estopped from challenging the terms and cannot seek any relief against the owner after accepting the prohibtory claudr and you will land into legal troubles if you continue to violate the contract.
