It is a little unclear to me but I am able to gather from your query that you want to vacate the premises and you are giving one month advance notice but your landlord wants 2 months notice. In case your rental agreement says ONE MONTH NOTICE, then your landlord cannot insist on two months. However if your rental agreement says more than one month or does not say anything at all, then you have to negotiate with the landlord. You can also send a Legal Notice highlighting the terms of the Rental Agreement in order to avoid wrongful penalty from the landlord.
