LANDLORD- TENANT- WHAT INTEREST BE CHARGED FOR LATE PAYMENT OF RENT

I AM A LANDLORD OF A BUILDING, AND INVARIABLY MY TENANTS PAY RENT AFTER 4-6 MONTHS. SO IN SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES CAN I CHARGE INTEREST AND AT WHAT RATE, UNDER THE MAHARASHTRA RENT CONTROL ACT 1999. PLEASE ADVISE & THANKS.

Is there an agreement between you and the tenants ?
If not then the statute does not provide for any interest to be charged and to be received by you as the landlord
You are very much likely to impose your tenants to pay the rent on time but you cannot charge interest
